Although rain threatens to keep Chicago inside all weekend, I can’t help but remind myself that April showers bring May flowers! Quite honestly, I’m a closet fan of a good spring thunderstorm. Hoping to be productive and perhaps find some time for a little baking project. Wishing you a wonderful, happy weekend, wherever you are!

I’ve mused before about the welcome space in a home and how important it is in setting the tone for a space. Celebrating today a very springy scene wherein this particular entryway is littered with delightfully seasonal things. Bunches of flowers, a pretty umbrella and a cheery tote welcome you home and to a fresh, new season. You can almost catch the scent of lilac and a thunderstorm…

I’ve always been a fan of the chino. Though the look can conjure country club or golf outing rather quickly if not done right, I love it for it’s classic, clean, preppy feel. The chino continues to evolve with the times, most recently by adopting all manner of colorful shades and coming in skinny or high-waist fits. Tuck in a tonal tee or layer on a neutral cardigan and you’re good to go. It just so happens I’m sporting this very look today. Viva el chino! 🙂

Happy Monday! Hoping this finds you happy and rested after a lovely Easter weekend. We enjoyed the glorious sunshine and spent time with our wonderful family. With true spring weather back to stay in Chicago, I thought I’d kick off the week with an outfit that epitomizes my springtime uniform: jeans and a blazer. The layers, accessories and shoes cycle in and out, but there’s nothing like this crisp, classic look. (Wishing I had that leopard bag to add an extra bit of chic!) Have a great spring week.

Hope it’s full of fresh flowers, dappled sunlight and your favorite people. I’m so missing joie and hope to be back in full swing very soon. Happy Easter. Enjoy!

Two wardrobe staples, blush pink and inky black, are coming together this spring to make the loveliest combination. Wearing this pale pink tone is such a wonderful way of getting away with light & bright before the hot summertime hits. Pairing it with black brings it down to earth, makes it work on the chilliest spring day and gives it the slightest edge. I’m simply smitten!

A brief post to say hello and to wish you the happiest of new months. April is here! And with it, more unruly spring weather complete with frequent showers. Just remember what April showers are famously known to bring…! It seems I am destined to be a girl on the run this week, but I’ll be popping in here and there with some lovely spring things so I hope you’ll stop by too. Have a wonderful week!

Remember my mission to discover the perfect lip shade for spring? After searching far and wide, I realized the answer was right in front of me. Once I determined that the right shade for me would be in the bright red-orange space, I was amazed to discover the revolution created when Poppy King made a unique shade for J.Crew. I read reviews, tried comparable shades from different brands and have come to determine that Poppy has done it just right. The great thing about the shade is that it’s somewhat translucent; you can layer it on for a brighter pop or keep it light for just a little glow. It adds a punch to any outfit! I am officially a member of Team Poppy.
