Aren’t peonies such a beautiful flower? I can’t get enough of the lushness they bring to any arrangement, and a peony-only bouquet is lovely too. Since spring flowers seem to be popping up simply everywhere these days, taking a moment to honor one of my favorites and a pretty J.Crew Collection dress that was inspired by its most famous hue. Peony perfection.

Celebrating what appears to be my most favorite color of the season today. There is, quite literally, a magnetic pull between me and this hue lately. It is the loveliest shade of orangey-red, aptly named “clambake” by Essie. I’ve always been a lover of all things red, but this time it’s taken on the most wonderful spin. I recently swooned about my seasonal lip color, and of course, these gorgeous pieces fit perfectly. What do you think? Isn’t it lovely? Happy clam-baking, gals. 🙂

I’ve always been a fan of the chino. Though the look can conjure country club or golf outing rather quickly if not done right, I love it for it’s classic, clean, preppy feel. The chino continues to evolve with the times, most recently by adopting all manner of colorful shades and coming in skinny or high-waist fits. Tuck in a tonal tee or layer on a neutral cardigan and you’re good to go. It just so happens I’m sporting this very look today. Viva el chino! 🙂

Two wardrobe staples, blush pink and inky black, are coming together this spring to make the loveliest combination. Wearing this pale pink tone is such a wonderful way of getting away with light & bright before the hot summertime hits. Pairing it with black brings it down to earth, makes it work on the chilliest spring day and gives it the slightest edge. I’m simply smitten!

Remember my mission to discover the perfect lip shade for spring? After searching far and wide, I realized the answer was right in front of me. Once I determined that the right shade for me would be in the bright red-orange space, I was amazed to discover the revolution created when Poppy King made a unique shade for J.Crew. I read reviews, tried comparable shades from different brands and have come to determine that Poppy has done it just right. The great thing about the shade is that it’s somewhat translucent; you can layer it on for a brighter pop or keep it light for just a little glow. It adds a punch to any outfit! I am officially a member of Team Poppy.

The pastel craze this spring has me absolutely swept up. (In fact, I’m wearing a ballet pink sweater today with a matching flower on my headband!) I can’t help but love the feminine innocence associated with all these gorgeous colors. Most of all, I’m absolutely dying for the minty green loveliness popping up everywhere…in a few different hues and on every imaginable surface. Some mints have a greener tone, some skew blue but every one is so fresh and delicious! So. What’s your favorite pastel?

With the springtime weather in full effect, I’ve been reaching for my tried-and-true principles for transition time fashion. Remember this fall post about proportions? Well there’s a spring version of this philosophy as well and it comes to life in two different ways: one for workdays and the other for play-days! Pairing long sleeves with a skirt makes unpredictable temperatures comfortable no matter the occasion.

I’m totally smitten. Emerson Fry (previously Emersonmade) has just released an utterly covetable spring line.. and I want every piece! There are so many gorgeous yet functional items…and that rose colored blazer! No wonder Emerson is a rising star in the ready-to-wear world (remember this post?) A couple of my favorites collected here, but you simply must check out the line for yourself!

It’s all the rage this season. There’s kind of a “more is more” mentality happening when it comes to patterning. We are encouraged to mix a spirited floral with a stately stripe – and the colors don’t even need to match! Although it goes against my usual carefully-connected style, I can’t help but love the playful freedom that comes with this new movement. How about you? 🙂

We’re well into March and I have yet to taste the creamy deliciousness of a Shamrock Shake! Shame on me. Regardless, I have, in fact, begun to feel the spirit of St. Patty’s day bubbling up inside. I’m currently loving the color green. It’s never topped my list before, but lately I’m drawn to all kinds of greenish hues…emerald, kelly, apple & more. Beyond the color, it seems that the true spirit of the season is rather celebratory with just a dash of wildness. It’s about doing your thing and embracing the freedom that comes with a new season…springtime! Happy St. Patty’s week to you.
