Although the chilly air is beckoning thoughts of warm, jewel-inspired tones, my love for color has me tuning in to the color forecast reports coming straight from the New York tents of Fashion Week. Enjoy a snippet from Harper’s Bazaar’s Spring Fashion Report…and dream of happy brights to get you through the first chill of fall!
Keeper of all things color, Pantone, is officially forecasting a bright and bubbly spring, despite all of that nasty news about the unemployment rate and Mother Nature’s recent proclivity for insane storms. When things seem down, what’s better than Tangerine Tango and a vintage-esque yellow called Solar Power, to perk things up? Those two are tops for the season, followed by Sodalite Blue, which seems to live in the royal blue family, followed by Cabaret, which is basically the perfect pink — according to the executive director of the Panotone Institute, Leatrice Eiseman.
For those less inclined to don bright on bright, a few neutrals, like the sandy-hued Starfish and warm-grey Driftwood, ranked to even things out. Designers from Tommy Hilfiger to Nanette Lepore have already implemented the shades for spring. The question is, will girls be bold enough to rock purple, or Bellflower, as it were, on the daily?
